A week ago today...
A week ago today, the most horrific act of sin on a educational campus took place in American History. I'm sure that it has shot thoughts of "Why does a God allow things like this to happen?" or "This is why I don't believe in God, because he would never let something like this happen!" or even no thoughts of God at all have been reeling through the minds of those involved and those who are not involved. But we must remember that God's ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, no, His ways and thoughts are better than ours. Though we don't understand we must think of His sovereignty and sufficiency. Think back to the cross, Jesus Christ endured the most horrific act of sin in all of time all the way through to death. And then through through the Fathers raising Christ from the dead, He vindicated Christ's victory over sin, death, and evil. The Virgina Tech horror reminds us of what humans can do to each other, but the cross of Christ reminds us of what Jesus did for sinners in bearing the full punishment for these sins. This gives us hope that even through this horrific situation, God is working all things to for those who love Him. Not all will understand this or even choose to have faith in it, but we must stand firm in our understanding of the cross and God's Word!
Remember to keep Virginia Tech in your prayers during this time of healing. Pray that the God of all comfort would continue to comfort those who are hurting and grieving. Please view the video above and use it as a reminder to pray.
